FALL COLOR TWO

This was a fun piece to do.  My paint was just a little too juicy to get much separation in my strokes.  I think I need to experiment with letting my painting set up a little more before building up the strokes.   Just love these little panels to loosen up on!

  1. Nice one! I hear you about the 'fat over lean' problem - I hate it when I'm so excited about a painting that I rush to put the thick paint on first - leaving me with nowhere to go! I usually end up scraping when I do that. Yes, the loosening up aspect of small panels, is partially what the Painting A Day is about!

  2. Diane, Beautiful painting, almost Van Gogh like. I love the way the you painted the tree and ground, great colors and separation of strokes. Really vibrant and intense!

  4. I was happy with this one too. This piece will be in the show in November at the church. These trees are down the street on Cunningham and will be turing late this fall. Check them out in a month. I hope to paint them over again this year.
